Question: What diagnosis is depicted by the findings on the X-rays above?

Answer: This is chondrocalcinosis. X-ray imaging will show evidence of calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal deposition (CPPD) which shows findings of cartilage calcification. Degenerative changes in the joint are also frequently present. Ultrasound can also correlate with findings on radiographs for CPPD.
